Programme Handbook

Welcome to the LEAD Programme

  • Nau mai, haere mai ki LEAD!

Congratulations on stepping into your leadership by joining LEAD. I’m really looking forward to spending time with you over the next nine weeks, as you grow and expand your leadership capacity in new and exciting ways.

This programme isn’t about theories or one-size-fits-all models. It’s a journey to connect with your own mana, strengthen your leadership, and create a future that reflects your values.

Guided by the MAEA Leadership™ Framework, LEAD is designed to support you to grow as a leader through self-awareness, relational leadership, and visionary thinking.

Over the 9 weeks we'll focus on:

Rediscovering Your Mana: Your mana comes from your whakapapa, tied to the legacy of your tūpuna. LEAD supports you in owning that mana and anchoring your leadership in identity and purpose.

Deepening Self-Awareness: Leadership begins with knowing yourself. You’ll gain tools to navigate your emotions, relationships, and challenges with clarity and confidence.

Leading with Aroha and Integrity: True leadership is about clear communication and leading with compassion. You’ll learn to listen deeply and build relationships that uplift the mana of those around you.

Shaping a Vision for the Future: Leadership isn’t just about today—it’s about paving the way for the next generation. LEAD will help you create a vision grounded in values and focused on the long-term wellbeing of your whānau and community.

Your commitment to joining LEAD is a commitment to yourself first and foremost.

A commitment to moving through discomfort, unpacking new awareness, and pushing into new spaces of action.

A commitment to being in your own unique leadership.

This is your leadership journey, let’s get stuck into it!

This survey will give me a really clear understanding of where you’re at and how to tailor LEAD to meet you at that point.

It’s also a really great opportunity for you to spend a few minutes in self-reflection, to get present with your intentions for the next nine weeks.

It’s important you prioritise being present on the calls to get the most possible out of programme. Depth in learning comes from interacting with others as you unpack the learning for yourself.

If you absolutely can’t make a zoom call, the sessions are recorded and will be uploaded to the digital kete for you to catch up on. Please let us know if you are unable to make it to a call.

You’ll have access to the recordings for the duration of the programme (nine weeks), and one month after the programme ends.

  • You will be added to a private Slack channel on the Monday of Week 1, where we’ll stay connected and kōrero between weekly calls.

  • The Digital Kete for LEAD is where you will find zoom recordings and other resources to support your learning in programme.

From the Monday of Week 1, you will be able to access Digital Kete here. You will receive an email with login details - if you don’t receive this email, please get in touch with us through support below.
