Te Kāinga Wāhine Membership
A kaupapa Māori community for wāhine Māori business owners.
Get strategic support, real accountability, and connection with others building values-led pakihi.
You’re building something that matters — and you don’t want to do it alone.
Maybe you started your pakihi because you want to create impact — not just income.
But let’s be real: most business spaces aren’t designed for the way you actually want to work.
You care about building a pakihi that recognises your whānau commitments, cultural responsibilities, and wellbeing — not one that asks you to sacrifice them.
You want accountability from people who understand why tikanga matters as much as profit margins — because they’re living it too.
You want a space where you don’t have to choose between being a good business owner and being true to yourself.
That’s what membership inside Te Kāinga Wāhine offers.
What membership feels like and how it supports your pakihi
Membership is about being part of something steady and supportive — a place where you can show up as you are, think clearly about your pakihi, and keep moving without burning out or compromising your values.
Monthly kōrero groups (daytime and evening options) where you can show up with whatever’s front and centre — an opportunity, a challenge, or an experience you need to talk through.
Membership is built on reciprocity. You’re supported by others, and you contribute simply by showing up.
Community
Real Accountability
Shared accountability that keeps you moving — especially when things get busy.
Each month, you choose a focus that matters to you, commit to one meaningful action, and stay connected through Mahia te Mahi check-ins with the community.
Expert Support & Training
Access to practical learning when you need it.
Guest workshops with specialists in pūtea, visibility, systems, and support — tailored for wāhine Māori pakihi owners, not generic business advice.
Strategic Clarity
Dedicated time to step back and work on your pakihi — not just stay busy inside it.
Monthly kōrero and quarterly planning sessions help you get clear on your next 90 days, work through challenges with guidance, and leave with plans you’ll actually implement.
How we show up together:
Kōrero Groups (daytime + evening options) - Member-led conversations where wāhine bring what’s real — challenges, decisions, and experiences
Strategy Kōrero - Space to talk through pakihi questions, get perspective, and sense-check your thinking
Mahia te Mahi Accountability - Gentle accountability to support follow-through — choosing one focus and staying connected through weekly check-ins
Regular touchpoints to stay connected and keep moving.

Tēnā koe!
Ko Amy McLean ahau.
Te Kāinga Wāhine was born from the idea that we were never meant to do this thing called life alone. But sometimes, we find ourselves in positions where we are - starting a business without other business owners around, or being in spaces where we're the only Māori in the room.
I've been coaching since 2018 (ICF-certified ACC since 2020), working with kaupapa Māori business accelerators including Kōkiri and TUPU, and have partnered with organisations like Creative HQ, Waikato-Tainui, Indigishare, and Rise Global. I was a 2023 MWDI finalist and have spent the past five years delivering kaupapa Māori business support programmes.
I'm deeply passionate about creating spaces of courage, connection, and commitment. I know that what works best for wāhine is a space that has been created for wāhine, by wāhine.
Why?
Because growth is challenging and vulnerable at the best of times. But doing it in a space where you don't have to explain your cultural ways of being, where people in the room just get it, makes it a little bit easier to be courageous.
And just 5% more courage each day can massively alter the course of things over time. That's what we're here for - change. The change you envision, the one you're striving for - we're here for that. And we'll be right alongside you every step of the way.
Te Kāinga Wāhine membership is the place of belonging I've needed in all the stages of my life. Access to community, support, and accountability that were made just for us.
Nau mai, haere mai, we're here for you.
